200 x 300 cm – Ceramic carpet – CAD/CAM prototyping
Reversed Erosion is concerned with the ways in which objects gain memories and change through use. We press-moulded four hundred ceramic tiles bearing an enigmatic geometrical pattern. Left unglazed, the tiles render clearly visible each and any trace of use. Through time, the unique pattern of erosion simultaneously highlights and overwrites the original order. This way, users are invited to stop in their tracks and pause for a moment of reflection and anticipation.
This project was made possible with the support of Stichting Stokroos, Fablab Amsterdam, Atelier Patty Schilder.
