5 porcelain chairs 42 x 42 x 75 cm
Simulacrum consists of a series of 5 porcelain chairs. Each chair –inconceivably fragile – is made out 12 separate hollow casts of 2 mm thick.
Porcelain Simulacrum triggers the philosophical notion of reproduction. This work investigates and questions the quality of material existence and presence of the very iconic Thonet chair. Porcelain Simulacrum invites the viewer to think and reflect on the personal and general notion of Chair, Icon and Furniture, therefore instigating new relationships to their Environment.
